About Central Penn College

For 140 years, Central Penn College has been providing career-focused education to residents in central Pennsylvania and beyond. The college––with locations in Summerdale and Lancaster––offers degrees in business, accounting, healthcare, information technology, criminal justice, legal studies and more. Courses are available in the daytime, evening, in-person and online.

How long has your company been a tenant at Greenfield?

The college’s Lancaster Center–– located at 1905 Old Philadelphia Pike––opened in 2004. For our first 16 years at this location, the Lancaster Center offered evening classes in the following programs: business, marketing, entrepreneurship, accounting, criminal justice and physical therapist assistant.

With the launch of the college’s new Medical Assisting Diploma program, the Lancaster Center began holding daytime classes starting in January. “It is great having our first day program at the center,” said Susan Lynch, director of the Lancaster Center. “Our next Medical Assisting (MA) cohort will start in the summer term, so then we will have two MA cohorts here at the center during the daytime.”

What does your company like most about Greenfield?

We like the location as it is close to downtown Lancaster and easily accessible from Route 30. Lancaster has been recognized as one of the best small cities in America, especially for entrepreneurs and small businesses. Central Penn College is proud to do its part in supporting and educating the next generation of leaders for Lancaster City, Lancaster County and the surrounding area. That’s why we launched a new, 9-month Entrepreneurship & Small Business certificate program. We want to be a solutions provider for Lancaster’s current and future business leaders.

How does your company connect and engage with the Lancaster Community?

We are a member of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and interact with the business community through the Chamber. We engage with the community by getting involved in local events and supporting local charities. We also work with the Lancaster County CareerLink and Workforce Development Board. Over the past few years, we have hosted events and brought in guest speakers for our students at the Lancaster Center. We look forward to making the Lancaster Center once again a place for community engagement and interaction as we are opening the center to the public.
